Fastly is a content delivery network which makes it more efficient for websites to get their content out to a large amount of people by caching it in various locations.
The outage was first acknowledged by Fastly in its status dashboard which showed an issue at 3.45pm,with degraded performance at its Perth and Sydney data centres.
At around 4.30pm on Thursday Fastly advised a fix had been implemented.
Fastly has been contacted for comment.
