About 7.30am on October 19,2020,emergency services were called to Simmat Avenue at Condell Park,following reports of a shooting. An injured Mr Hamzy made his way down the street before collapsing outside a friend’s home in nearby Curtin Place,where he died.
Mr Hamzy is the younger brother of one of the state’s most dangerous criminals,Bassam Hamzy,who founded the violent street gang Brothers 4 Life and has been known to still wield influence over members from within jail.

The new CCTV footage shows a grey Toyota Rav 4,which was parked on Simmat Avenue on the morning of the murder. Two masked men are seen exiting the vehicle prior to the shooting before leaving in the same car shortly after. The car was found ablaze close to the crime scene on the same day.
Police allege the car had the fake plates CY05UE.
Detectives have also identified a black Mercedes-Benz with the partial registration EHV*** as a vehicle of interest. The car was driven by a masked man.
The vehicle was seen near Simmat Avenue on the morning of the shooting and later driving through the Moorebank area,including along Craig,Metcalfe and Selway Avenues.
