Intelligence from communications over An0m led to the arrest and NSW Police gangs squad commander Robert Critchlow said it demonstrated the “real-world effect” of Operation Ironside,in whichAustralian Federal Police monitored communications on the app that was secretly controlled by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Detective Superintendent Critchlow said the arrest of Mr Clark,35,would be a blow to the Nomads and draw in associates allegedly involved with a syndicate whose activities affected Sydney,Canberra and the NSW South Coast.
Officers in the ACT executed a search warrant at Mr Clark’s home on Monday afternoon and seized an An0m device.

Detective Superintendent Critchlow said Mr Clark had been involved in the supply of shortened and silenced firearms and a semi-automatic shotgun capable of firing seven shots in two seconds.
“When it’s alleged in matters still before that court that this group were involved in shooting houses and shooting up people on the South Coast of NSW,it’s obviously of serious concern” he said.
Mr Clark was charged with supply of an indictable quantity of a prohibited drug,conspiracy to supply a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug,two counts of supplying a prohibited firearm and participating in a criminal group.
