“It’s actually become about their welfare and we have to look after these boys. They’re upset because they know they made a bad choice and the ramifications are greater than they ever anticipated.

“There is zero tolerance at the club,we strive to be better than most,and we need to fix that.”

The players are facing fines of up to $40,000 and a two to four-match ban.

All the players were reminded to party in moderation after their shock preliminary-final exit against Penrith.

The players were unaware of the identity of the person who leaked the video,but believed he came from the Noosa area.

Smith told SEN Radio on Thursday:“You can’t be a leader on game day and not want to be a leader any other time. If you’re a leader on game day,you’re a leader every day you represent the club,and your actions contribute to how everyone feels about you as a leader.

“I’d like to think they’re smarter than the way they’ve acted.”
