Despite the Botox-stiff competition, there was little need for Lee to worry. Supermodels from the past are not part of the Australian designer’s youthful,too-cool-to-club-kid aesthetic.
On a vacant floor of the expansive Hudson Commons development, the front-row benches were predominantly filled by guests who were not born,or at least twerking, when Fendi’s baguette bag launched.
Lee’s slashed singlets, miniscule skirts, sheer fabrications and enthusiastically cropped tops were well represented, offering a peek-a-boo show of nipples,Rubenesque buttocks and protruding clavicles, before the first model strode down the concrete slab runway.

The show with stern-faced models was a more refined exploration of his devoted followers’ favourite themes, although shown exclusively on models with silhouettes like line drawings by Rene Gruau that ignore size inclusivity.
The mummy-like bandage tops were there, along with thigh skimming miniskirts, exoskeletal singlets and provocative harnesses.
It was beneath the shock value styling that items with broader appeal stole attention, such as crisp white shirting, subtly flared trousers and slim single-breasted blazers.
