In December 2022,Lim suffered a head injury when beingarrested by police in Sydney’s Queen Victoria Building for failing to comply with a move on direction. No charges were ever laid,and NSW Police vowed to conduct an independent review into the incident.

In 2019,Lim was also arrested in Barangaroo and received a $500 fine for offensive behaviour. A witness to that incident told theHerald policehad used “so much force” on the then 74-year-old, and described the arrest as a “spiteful act of bullying”.
