Marsh’s departure comes a day afterGlenn Maxwell was ruled out of Saturday’s match against struggling England in Ahmedabad with concussion after falling off the back of a golf buggy.
“He’s flown home late last night[Wednesday],” Stoinis said of Marsh. “He’s got a family issue going on. And like we all know, family is very important. And the most important really,so he’s doing the right thing and he’s getting home and he’s seeing the people he needs to see.
“I don’t think there’s a timeline on when he’s coming back. But I’m sure he’ll do what he needs to do at home and then get back.”
Marsh’s explosive batting at or near the top of the order has been a major reason for Australia’s revival following a poor start to the tournament, winning four matches in a row after losing the first two badly against likely semi-finalists India and South Africa.

Stoinis has declared himself fit after a minor calf strain and is expected to return to the side to cover Maxwell, while endorsing Cameron Green as the likely replacement for Marsh.
Stoinis agreed that the injury to Maxwell after a team golf day raised questions about players’ activities on tour but believed there was nothing untoward about the incident. Maxwell also suffered a badly broken leg almost a year ago in an “innocuous” incident at a birthday party and missed months of cricket.
