It made watching the plight of the side – with which he donned the colours 129 times – under outgoing coach Eddie Jones all the more frustrating to bear, having been part of an era that fought to instil a palpable brand in the way they played the game.
While RA has confirmed their priority would be to hire a director of high performance, who will then launch the hunt for a head coach,Moore said they needed to think globally and not limit their search to Australian shores.
“I think if we just restrict ourselves to Australian coaches we’re not doing the best job of finding the right person for the job,” the former Queensland Reds and Brumbies hooker said.

“We probably haven’t grown our own coaches as well as we could have in the last however many years, and for that reason,we need to look around the world to find our next coach.
“If that’s an Australian, then that’s great, but we need to get the right person. There’s some really quality candidates around at the moment.
“We need to look at who’s available right around the world and find the absolute best candidate because we’ve got so much ahead of us here that we need to find the right person to take the team forward. If we do that,I think we can do really well.
