It seeks to develop a new racetrack in metropolitan Sydney. The published proposal did not identify a site but an abandoned brick pit at Sydney Olympic Park has been touted as an option.
The ATC also wants “the establishment of a Metro West station at Rosehill Gardens,support to identify a suitable location for a new racetrack and access to the necessary land at Horsley Park”.
The document stresses that the state government has not agreed to the proposal. However,in justifying its decision to move the plan to the next stage,it said:“ATC and its proposal are uniquely positioned to deliver a significant housing outcome in the manner proposed that responds to the government’s priorities.
“The proposal has the potential to align with key government plans and priorities.”
The government’s document said:“The proposal has the potential to deliver public benefits including a significant housing outcome in proximity to city centres and a major transport corridor.
“A potential additional metro station could improve connectivity and access to employment,health,education and community infrastructure.”
