That’s it for the day. The players are not coming back on today.
Pakistan claimed the honours again on day two, declaring at 4/476 shortly before stumps. Australia reached 0/5 at stumps after Usman Khawaja and David Warner saw off the only over Pakistan bowled.
Pakistan could not use pace to open the bowling due to the fading light.
Australia have a lot of work to do on the third day if they are to find safe ground.
The draw or a Pakistan victory are the two most likely results but I am not ruling out Australia pulling off a miraculous win. Pakistan’s slow scoring have left the door slightly ajar. If the visitors need to bat well for the next two days it could set up a tense final day on a pitch expected to offer variable bounce late in the game.
